This article shows the effectiveness of treatment of children using an insulin pump during 3 years from 2014 to 2016. In these years, 40 children were monitored, respectively 21 children in 2014, 11 children in 2015 and 8 children in 2016. During the observation, clinical compensation of the disease was detected in all children. Metabolic compensation of diabetes is usually assessed using glycated hemoglobin. In 2014, glycated hemoglobin was 9.37 ± 0.33%, and in 2015 and 2016, respectively, 8.73 ± 2.01% and 8.78 ± 1.14%. Despite the trend of decreasing this value, no statistical significance was found between these values (p> 0.05). The observation revealed that the total dose of ultra short insulin used by patients in 2015 and 2016 years was high compared to 2014 year (13.4 ± 5.34 units in 2014, 42.7 ± 21.10 units in 2015, 51.2 ± 6.10 units in 2016). The mean age of the patients was not statistically significant, and the doses received by the patients were statistically significantly different (p <0.001). In the course of the observation, it can be assumed that, despite a significant increase in the dose of insulin, there was no complete compensation of patients, but there was a tendency to reduce glycated hemoglobin.
