Clinical evaluation of respiratory disorders in premature newborn

Abstract

The aim of the study was to conduct a correlation analysis in premature infants with respiratory disorders (RD) of Apgar scores at the 1st and 5th minutes with final Downes scores during the first 20–30 minutes of life. Premature infants with RD were divided into groups: with intrauterine pneumonia and respiratory distress syndrome. Our correlation analysis showed that in premature infants with RD there was a direct relationship between the Apgar score at the 1st and 5th minutes of life. Thus, the Apgar scale acts as the initial link in assessing the severity of the condition of newborns and remains relevant to this day, and the significance and expediency of its use for low-birth-weight children requires extensive study.
