Purpose of the study is to determine early diagnostic criteria. Treatment and prophylaxis of osteopenia in preterm infants.
Material and Methods. The study included group of 68 preterm infants , and the control group of 20 infants. Children were involved in clinical examination, as well as examination of bone marrow markers, neurosonographic and biochemical examination and also anamnetic information was collected. The examinations were conducted on the 5-7 th and 24 th -28 th days of child’s life. The gestational age of children were 28-37 weeks o, and weigth from 900.0 grams to 2500.0 grams. The children were divided into 2 groups, depending on age. First group -37 children with gestational age 28-33 weeks, and Second group consisted of 31 children with gestational age 34-37 weeks.
The results of the study and their discussion: The analysis of dynamic changes in osteogenesis markers revealed increasig concentrations of CT and OC, declining PTH and QF in the end-neonatal period (21-28 days) . However any of these parameters was not normalized in comparison with the same parameters in control group. In the 1st group , main group, all indicators were honest (p <0.01) from the control group. The latter indicates that the process of osteogenesis has undergone serious changes in preterm infants born and promotes the development of various pathological processes in the bone system.
