Right lung agenesis

Abstract

Pulmonary agenesis is a rare anomaly that can be observed as isolated or associated with oother ssystemic comorbidities such as cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal and uurogenitalssystem anomalies 50% of the time. Pulmonary agenesis is a bilateral or unilateral aabsence of lllungs, bronchi and pulmonary vessels. At the same time, pulmonary agenesis may bbe seen as a part of Holt-Oram syndrome, Goldenhar disease, Velocardio-facial syndrome aand Opitz G syndrome. Prognosis of right lung agenesis is more severe as ccompared to left llung agenesis.Although the diagnosis of pulmonary agenesis is usually made in the first years oof life, in some cases it can be delayed until later ages.
