Abstract

Throughout history, from ancient Greek times, doctors have provided medical care to people of all ages, including children. Despite this, pediatrics is a relatively new field of medicine. Traditional doctors cared for patients of any age, including young and old, with a small specialization. In fact, the first information about children's medicine belongs to the Egyptians. Information about children's medicine in Ebers papyrus, information about children's disease from Hippocrates, Ephesus Soranos, Galen, written sources from Islamic doctors Razi and Avicena indicate that doctors have been dealing with pediatric diseases since ancient times. Numerous medical schools were opened in Europe in the XVII-XVIII centuries, much attention was paid to pediatrics, the number of pediatric books increased. Then several children's pediatric societies were established in the United States/ The area of pediatrics as we know it today in the United States originates from the American Pediatric Society and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Although earlier studies and records included information about children, pediatrics as a separate specialty was highlighted later. Today, pediatrics as a specialty is certified and regulated by the American Pediatric Society and the American Academy of Pediatrics in the United States, as well as similar bodies in other countries of the world. Pediatricians can now also study and practice the specialty of pediatrics, which focuses on specific types of diseases and children's health conditions.
