In recent years, studies of the role of proapoptotic, neurotrophic and growth factors in violation of the functions of the central nervous system in the perinatal period have become particularly relevant.
The aim of the research was to study the content of neurospecificenolase (NSE), S-100protein, activated leukocyte cell adhesion molecule (ALCAM), and Death Receptor (DR5) in the blood serum of newborns with neonatal seizures. The results of clinical, laboratory, instrumental studies of 307 newborns with seizures were studiedfor the solution of some tasks. As a result of the studies, there was found that the level of NSE in newborns with seizures reliably exceeded the concentration of neuropeptides in newborns of the Control Group by 4.9 times(F = 52,3; χ2 = 11,2; р< 0,001); S-100 by 2.1 times(F = 8,62; χ2 = 29,4; р< 0,005); ALCAM by 1.4 (F=5,13; χ2 = 17,9; р=0,178); and DR-5 by 2.5 times(F=5,13; χ2 = 17,9; р<0,05) compared with healthy newborns. Correlation analysis revealed multiple links with anamnestic, clinical, and immunochemical parameters of newborns with seizures. Thus, the expression of neuropeptides and apoptosis factors in newborns on the background of hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy with a violation of the permeability of the blood-brain barrier leads to the maintenance of seizure activity and exacerbates further unfavorable neurological outcome.
